SUBJECT:  Chamber General Meeting Minutes

TO:  All Chamber Members

1.  The Windsor Area Chamber of Commerce general meeting/luncheon was held at noon on Wednesday, August 13, 2008, at the United Methodist Church.  Pat Berube, Chamber President, called the meeting to order at noon.

• Opening Prayer:  Pastor Myra Torrance
• Luncheon:  Sliced ham, green beans, potato casserole, hominy, cole slaw, bread/butter, dessert, water, lemonade, and tea
• Door Prize consisting of a 30-minute portrait session was donated courtesy of Penny's Portraits and won by Jamie Ward.

2.  Chamber Announcements:

• Pat Berube announced to the group that Patricia Puttonen and BJ Friedly have been selected to head up this year's Moonlight Madness.  Mr. Berube also introduced two new chamber members:  Mary Shippy, West-Central Independent Living Solutions, and Nancy Gilmore, The Museum and Arts.
• Jesse Kellock stated that Greg Frencken has been appointed to the base community council.  Jesse also stated that the chamber raffle will be conducted during the upcoming library fundraiser scheduled for Saturday, August 23, 2008.
• Ron Adams introduced the new school superintendent, Mr. Gordon Myers.
• Andy Englehart was introduced as a new employee at Hawthorn Bank.
• Will Egbert briefed that the school appreciation luncheon is on track for Monday, August 18, 11 am, at the high school.  He stated that the committee still needs monetary donations.

3.  Chamber Guest Speaker:  Mr. Gary French, Henry County Health Center, conducted an extremely informative presentation, "Ready in 3, Emergency Preparedness."  Ready in 3 includes three steps:  create a plan for you, your family, and your business; prepare a kit for home, car, and work; and listen for information about what to do and where to go during an actual emergency.  Mr. French provided all in attendance a brochure containing detailed information on planning for emergencies.  This brochure is also available at the Chamber office.  Any questions concerning this briefing may be directed to Mr. French or the Chamber office.

4.  There being no further business, Pat Berube adjourned the meeting at 1:10 p.m.

5.  The next general meeting/luncheon is scheduled for noon, Wednesday, September 10, 2008, at the United Methodist Church.
