The Department of Natural Resources Recreational Trails Grant was hand delivered on June 12, 2006.  We should know their decision by the Christmas Holidays.  Even if we are given this grant, it is going to take more money to keep this trail in shape for at least 25 years.  We are still seeking donations and other grant opportunities to help with this project and another project to build shower houses at the campground. To date, we have received one grant (MFA Oil) and several monetary donations. We have a lease agreement with the owners of the Rock Island Railroad currently in negotiations.
