Henry County Economic Deveolpment, Inc.

Henry County Economic Development Council was created and incorporated in 1989 to improve the lives of the citizens of Henry County, MO. The HCEDC, Inc. has a county wide representative board of directors composed of fourteen citizens, plus one county commissioner, and two non-voting high school students.  This council has received state wide recognition and awards for it’s video of Henry County and for its Overall Economic Development Plan. HCEDC is a 501C3 organization. Due to efforts put forth by this group, Henry County has an additional two public water supply districts, insuring quality water throughout Henry County.  Members of the HCEDC, worked with state legislators changing the laws governing emergency dispatch services, enabling Henry County to become the first county in the State of Missouri to vote for and implement a county-wide Enhanced 9-1-1 system.  The Benson Expo and Convention Center was built through private donation in cooperation with the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) through the Department of Economic Development. Other projects include the Hwy 52 bridge reconstruction at Calhoun, Urich log jam, site selection for the Henry County Detention Center, support for State Fair Community College, Hwy 13 Coalition and dredging Farrington Park Lake in Windsor. The Henry County Economic Development Council, Inc. works throughout the county with business and industry, county, city, state and federal governments, and area Chambers of Commerce.
