The Henry County DAR Chapter and the Missouri State Society Daughters of the American Revolution are so pleased to have been approved to present the NSDAR National Community Service Award to the Windsor Ambulance Board.

Board members have spent hundreds of hours unraveling the myriad problems of the old service, getting finances and bills in order, working with the state and IRS on back taxes, and contracting with the Pettis County Ambulance Board for a wonderful, professional new service. The Windsor area is extremely fortunate to have 24/7 ambulance coverage. The award was presented at the March 8th Windsor Area Chamber of Commerce luncheon. Many members and guests were present to help thank board members for their exemplary community service. In the picture to the left, Melvina Cooper Casteel, member of the Henry County DAR, presents Board President Steve Galloway a photo of her mother and father, Charles and Riletta Cooper.  Mr. Cooper was the Emergency Management Director for many years, with Mrs. Cooper working by his side. Mr. and Mrs. Cooper are in their uniforms in the photo. The Windsor Ambulance District purchased Mr. and Mrs. Cooper's home for the ambulance station, where the photo will be placed.
